Two university buildings are to be knocked down in order to accommodate a brand new student housing complex.
Colebrook and Parchment houses have been deemed unfit for several years, due to old piping systems and asbestos insulation.
Winchester University plan to demolish the buildings before summer. The replacement building will house three-hundred en-suite bedrooms and facilities for disabled students.
The new complex is scheduled to be completed by September two-thousand-and-nine.

Excellent story – very newsworthy with the asbestos and so on. Is there a waste of public money angle though? I know it is kinda disloyal to the institutions – but most listeners and readers are going to think what ever the University of Winchester does, just ends up wasting even more public money. That might be wrong headed point of view, but it needs to heard I think.
